Highlights from 2016 DevOps Days Austin
// Chef Blog

On May 2 & 3, Chef proudly sponsored DevOps Days Austin and the Happy Hour event. I was in great company with four Chef presenters: Nathen Harvey, Matt Ray, Jody Wolfborn, and me – JJ Asghar.

Here are links to our presentations:

If you don't know, DevOpsDays is a chance for our community to come together, discuss, and present some of the most cutting edge ideas in our industry. We were lucky to have Ernest Mueller and James Wickett MCing, and a boat load of volunteers to run this unconference.

Each day began with talks ranging from corporate culture, to technical presentations, helping highlight those cutting edge ideas. There were planned ignite talks, and Open Mic talks too, which gave presenters only 5 mins to come up with their 5 minute ignite talk.

This was also the year of the inaugural DevOpsDays Austin Hackathon. Multiple teams came up with some extremely interesting and shippable projects after an intense ~12 hours of work!

The open spaces had some amazing topics and great discussions too, including configuration management and how to deal with the stresses of our careers.

Chef is delighted to be a part of this community and wants to thank the DevOpsDays Austin organizers and volunteers for a successful and glorious couple days. We look forward to next year's DevOpsDays Austin!
