Announcing Chef Support for Amazon Linux 2
// Chef Blog

Today we are excited to announce Chef's support for Amazon Linux 2. Chef Automate delivers the most comprehensive automation platform spanning tasks from infrastructure to compliance all the way to applications. We do this using Chef, enabling infrastructure automation; InSpec, enabling compliance automation; and Habitat, enabling application automation. Chef is committed to automating the systems our customers are using both today and tomorrow. Our support of customer choice extends across the full spectrum of infrastructure and application stack components so that we help you automate what you want to use, where you want to.

Support for Amazon Linux 2 builds upon our goals to offer more native experiences to customers using AWS, previously evidenced by delivering upon AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate (OWCA), a fully-managed Chef Automate service that delivers world class configuration and compliance management service.

With this announcement, customers running Amazon Linux 2 as Amazon Machine Images (AMI), container formats, and virtual machines can use their Chef Automate infrastructure to manage Amazon Linux 2, running either within AWS or on-prem deployments.

For a list of supported platforms including Amazon Linux 2 lookup our docs site. You can learn more about Amazon Linux 2 here  and also try out AWS OpsWorks for Chef Automate to easily instantiate a fully-managed Chef Automate deployment.
