We've been moving around a lot lately, from new headquarters here in Seattle, to offices in San Francisco and London. Keeping in the swing of things, we have now moved our online home to chef.io.

Why?

Since changing our name to Chef last year, we've been trying to acquire www.chef.com. Alas, it is not to be. So, chef.io gives us the next best thing, a direct tie to our name, and a cool new domain extension to boot.

What does this mean for you?

You don't have to make any changes today. All your favorite opscode.com and getchef.com links will redirect, and email will get to the right place whether you use one of our old domains, or @chef.io.

The API for Hosted Chef will remain at api.opscode.com for the time being. We have started testing api.chef.io and will provide additional updates as we firm up plans to move from api.opscode.com to api.chef.io on the blog, twitter, and via email.
